The partnership have been designated Bikeability funding this year, to support the delivery of Cycle Proficiency and Safe Cycling to School.
16 selected schools will receive 12 free pupil places for a free Bikeability course at their school. Pupils on the school will recieve a weeks worth of training provided by trained Bikeability instructors from PACE and by Friday will have qualified at Level 1 and Level 2.
Level 1 is a playground based training programme aimed at providing pupils with the basic skills of safe cycling, bike control and manouver.
Level 2 will see the pupils take to the roads (within a controlled environment) and learn skills linked to safe road cycling, signalling and being seen.
